Am I thinking what we’re all thinking, here? How is it already FEBRUARY?!
On second thought, you know what, I don’t care how it got here. I’m just happy we’re officially one month down in 2021 aka one month further away from 2020. I mean, we’re here to think positive, right?!
Let’s get the good news train going with one of God’s greatest creations: puppies! If you love them, here’s your chance to support them just like many others did today in Quincy during a COVID-safe stroll. The annual “Parade of Puppies” returned for its second fundraiser to benefit the Quincy Animal Shelter thanks to support from Victory Point. While the local restaurant hosted pre-parade appetizers at noon and a post-parade showing of The Puppy Bowl at 2:00, the “pup-parade” officially started at the waterfront restaurant at 1pm. Victory Point owner Donato Frattaroli says, “With light at the end of the tunnel in terms of our battle against Covid, we welcome the return of the Parade of Puppies in a safe, welcoming environment.”
Didn’t make it this year? No worries! You can still donate to support the Quincy Animal Shelter at http://quincyanimalshelter.org/.
What’s just as cute as a puppy? Babies, of course! For our second good news update, one organization has made it their mission to ensure military spouses are able to celebrate their incoming little one with a baby shower they otherwise may not be able to have had. Many military spouses face not only the challenge of enduring pregnancy alone while their partner is serving their country, but relocations away from their own family and friends that can make it even harder to host a shower. Add in a global pandemic and-well, it’s hard to imagine feeling more isolated than that. That’s where Operation Shower comes in: making sure military mamas-to-be receive both the love and supplies they need.
