Businesswomen of Boston Unite for Bizzy Women Winter Market

REVERE, MA – With a waterfront view from the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, girlboss entrepreneurs Lauren Maloney & Amanda Portillo transformed a ballroom into a winter wonderland empowering fellow female business owners to thrive. “Small business owners-especially women-it can be challenging to for example have a storefront so this is a very special opportunity where they get to connect with the community and sell their product.” explains Portillo.

The Bizzy Women Social Market is a quarterly gathering that connects business owners with their ideal client. From health and wellness to estate planning, massages, permanent jewelry and children’s clothing – there was a stop for everyone. Including a big bar for the grown ups, and hot cocoa for the kids.

“It’s something for everybody that you would find here,” smiled Portillo.

The market however is more than just shopping.

“We started as a social networking organization to bring women together. Not just to build professional relationships but also friendship and personal relationships as well,” says Portillo.

What’s the vibe: The one-of-a-kind seaside shopping experience connects female business entrepreneurs with new clients while being surrounded with likeminded professionals.

Reflecting on her experience, Beauty Counter Advocate & Scout & Cellar representative Stephanie Ankiewicz shared why she joined as the very first member of Bizzy Women Social. “It was post-pandemic, I felt like I needed a good way to really just like connect,” she explained. “It’s been huge for my business but also just personal relationships and I’ve met some incredible people.”

It’s a sentiment echoed by Eleanor Riccardi, distributor of the clean skincare line Maria Elena Venuto of Tuscany. “I’ve expanded my network and met so many people that have contributed to my business,” she describes. “It’s one of the best investments that I have made thus far this year.”

Christina James, Enchanted Magnolia “I’ve gotten a lot of exposure, and I’ve met a lot of people. A lot of great women.”

“It brings women together so that we can support one another and uplift one another and that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.”
