Fall Out Boy Rocks Fenway Park to benefit Red Sox Foundation charities

ling every Red Sox Fan knows and loves: that magical feeling of walking into Fenway Park as music & the smell of sweet Italian sausage fill the air. Yet the Summer Concert Series held every year in America’s oldest MLB ballpark is a different type of vibe that holds a special place for music lovers with performances that cater to all tastes. One both my husband and I could agree was Fall Out Boy, taking us both back instantly to our teenage years.

A little known secret to concertgoers hoping to score tickets? The one-of-a-kind VIP show experience that happens during every concert on the Sam Deck. Boasting more than music, funds generated from every ticket sale go to support the many arms of the Red Sox Foundation’s reach in Boston and beyond. “You get a seat up here on the Sam Deck, side view of the stage with complimentary food, beer, wine, water, soda – private bathrooms which is a huge hit – just a really great space to come together, collaborate and celebrate all the work that’s done here at the Red Sox Foundation,” explains Jenn Jacob, Development & Events Manager for The Red Sox Foundation.

A registered 501c3, their official mission is “to make a difference in the lives of children, families, veterans, and our communities in need by improving their health, education, and recreational opportunities.” What that actually translates to is offering support to a wide range of homegrown Boston initiatives like the RBI Program providing baseball & softball to major cities – “We service about 2,000 kids ages 5-18 annually.” scholarships – “We provide $10k college scholarships to 12 8th grade students in the Boston Public Schools systems,” and more. “The Home Base Program, which is our veteran services program, The Jimmy Fund which needs no introduction here in Boston, and then the Dimock Center which is a health and human services organization that works in the heart of Roxbury and services 20,000 people annually.” Not to mention, of course, their Emergency Hardship Fund and offering a small number of grants to their fellow friends in the nonprofit space.

With a price that’s worth every penny, tickets to the Sam Deck are a whole VIP vibe. From the buffet of ballpark staples like hot dogs, fries, pretzels, sausages, and chicken tendies to the wine that flowed free-ly, it’s an easy place to grab a seat at your own table & unwind as Grand Theft Autumn rocked Landsdowne Street.

Nestled under the watchful eye of the Sam Adams statue proudly posted on the deck bearing his name, three Red Sox World Series trophies glimmered as a thank you from Jenn, The Red Sox organization & the RSF team to those who came out to support their work in Boston’s local communities. “With these incredible opportunities we are really able to service our people, our programs and our partners.”
