HIGH POINT, NC – For anyone who loves America’s favorite pastime, taking in a good baseball game is a gift in itself. From the sound of the bat to the smell of stadium food and energetic atmosphere, it’s no wonder thousands flock to High Point Stadium in North Carolina to watch the High Point Rockers dominate home plate. What’s more, home runs hit on this field generate not only cheers from the crowd but actual dollars to support the High Point Downtown Community Foundation.
A non-profit organization, HPDCF operates the High Point Rockers baseball team that plays in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Dedicated to the High Point community, there’s no limit to where the team with lend a hand. They’ve hit just about every angle of providing community support by way of local first responders, donating meals, investing in local libraries, building backpacks chock full of school supplies, and coming up: Christmas in July where guests that bring 4 canned food items to benefit the Salvation Army enjoy free admission.
“It’s just a family feel; a community feel,” explains Amy Cromer, CEO of Livian Carolinas at Keller Williams. As a corporate sponsor and season ticket holder, Cromer says supporting the team felt like the right choice thanks to its hometown feel. “Being a sponsor is such an amazing thing because I know my dollars are going to the community.” Bearing a jersey she won in an auction to benefit Victory Junction providing children with physical or terminal illnesses a camping experience, Cromer explains how it’s just one of many opportunities the Rockers offer for fans to have fun giving back.
